Getting started
The fastest path from install to a synced calendar.
How do I connect a listing?
- In Airbnb or Booking.com, find your listing's calendar export (iCal) link.
- Open Hostmaster and go to the Connect tab.
- Add a property, paste the iCal link, and give it a name and colour.
- Bookings appear within a few minutes and refresh automatically from then on.
Which platforms and channels are supported?
Anything that publishes an iCal feed — including Airbnb, Booking.com, and VRBO. You can connect multiple channels to a single property and Hostmaster merges them into one calendar.
How often does it sync?
Hostmaster pulls your iCal feeds automatically in the background. You can also trigger a manual refresh any time from the Calendar screen — the "Synced X min ago" label shows when it last updated.
Cleaning & your team
Turnovers, assignments, and getting cleaners paid.
How do I assign a cleaner to a turnover?
Every check-out automatically creates a clean. On the Cleaning tab, open the job and choose Assign to give it to a regular cleaner, or post it to the marketplace for a freelancer to claim. You can message and review photo proof from the same screen.
I'm a cleaner — how do I get paid?
Accept a job, work through the per-property checklist, and submit your photo proof. Payment is handled through the app once the host approves, so there are no invoices to chase. Your rating travels with you between properties and hosts.
Can two cleaners accept the same job?
No. Job claiming is atomic — the first cleaner to accept gets it, and the job disappears for everyone else instantly. No double bookings.
Account & data
Your privacy, your control.
How is my data handled?
Hostmaster uses Firebase Authentication and stores your data securely. We don't sell your data, there are no third-party trackers, and there are no ads in the app. Your booking data is only used to power the features you see.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time:
- In the app, go to Settings → Account → Delete account, or
- Email contact@ethelium.co.nz from your account address with the subject "Delete my account".
We'll permanently remove your account and personal data, typically within a few days, and confirm by email.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Your calendar and Today view work without a signal. Any changes you make queue up and sync automatically the moment you're back online.
Billing
Is Hostmaster free?
Hostmaster is free to download and set up.
How do refunds work?
Any purchases made through the App Store are handled by Apple. To request a refund, visit Apple's Report a Problem page and sign in with your Apple ID.
