Boxerium Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 June 2026

This is the privacy policy for Boxerium (the "App"), a boxing round-timer application for iOS and Android developed by Ethelium ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Information stored only on your device. Boxerium stores the following data locally on your device (in your operating system's standard app preferences storage — NSUserDefaults on iOS, SharedPreferences on Android). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:

  • Workouts you create (round counts, durations, combo lists, favorites, beat-clap patterns, sequence settings)
  • Your in-app settings (selected voice, sound preferences, per-sound volumes, custom callouts toggle, kickboxing techniques toggle, advanced tools toggle)
  • Your purchase status for the "Remove Ads" subscription

Information collected by third parties. Boxerium uses the following third-party services that may collect information about your use of the App:

  • Google AdMob — used to display a small banner advertisement during workouts and a single full-screen advertisement at the end of a workout session, in either case only when you have not subscribed to "Remove Ads". AdMob may collect device identifiers (the Apple Advertising Identifier / IDFA on iOS, the Google Advertising ID / AAID on Android), IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and ad-interaction data. See Google's privacy disclosures at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543.
  • Apple (StoreKit / App Store) — on iOS, used to process the "Remove Ads" subscription. Apple receives standard purchase metadata; we receive an anonymous receipt confirming the subscription is active. We never receive your name, email, payment details, or Apple ID. See Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
  • Google Play Billing — on Android, used to process the "Remove Ads" subscription. Google receives standard purchase metadata; we receive an anonymous receipt confirming the subscription is active. We never receive your name, email, payment details, or Google account information. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

We do not collect, store, or have access to your personal account information, contacts, photos, microphone audio, location (beyond what AdMob may derive from IP), or any other personal data beyond what is described above. Boxerium does not include any analytics, crash-reporting, or behavioural-tracking SDK.

Advertising controls

  • iOS — App Tracking Transparency. On first launch on iOS 14.5 and later, Boxerium will ask whether you allow us (via AdMob) to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites. You may choose Allow or Ask App Not to Track — both options let you use the App fully. If you allow tracking, AdMob may use your IDFA to serve more relevant ads. If you do not, AdMob will serve only contextual advertising. You can change this decision at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Boxerium.
  • Android — Advertising ID. You can reset or limit AdMob's use of your Advertising ID at any time in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads. On Android 13 and later you may also delete the Advertising ID entirely; AdMob will then serve only contextual advertising.

Children

Boxerium is intended for ages 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The advertisements served by AdMob are configured for general audiences.

Your choices and rights

  • Remove ads — subscribe to "Remove Ads" inside the App's Settings screen to stop both banner and end-of-workout advertisements entirely (and stop AdMob from collecting ad-related data). Manage or cancel any time via your platform's standard subscription settings (iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; Android: Play Store → Account → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions).
  • Reset local data — uninstall the App from your device. All locally stored workouts and settings are removed.
  • Ad data deletion — to request deletion of advertising data associated with your Advertising ID, use Google's user controls at My Ad Center and reset/delete your Advertising ID via your device settings as described above.
  • EU / UK / California users — if you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR / UK-GDPR / CCPA, including the right to access, correct, or delete the personal data held about you. Because we do not hold any personal data ourselves, any such request should be directed to Google for AdMob data (see links above) and Apple or Google for purchase data. You may also contact us at the email below and we will help direct your request.

Data security

Communication between the App and the third-party services listed above is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Locally stored workouts and settings are protected by your device's standard app sandboxing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent change. Material changes will be announced in an in-app notice on next launch.
